The active ingredient xylometazoline hydrochloride in the nasal spray ensures that the blood vessels constrict. This in turn causes the nasal mucous membrane to swell. The active ingredient dexpanthenol is a derivative of pantothenic acid. This promotes wound healing and also protects the nasal mucosa. The drug is used to reduce the swelling of the nasal mucosa in the event of a cold. It is also used to treat damage to the mucous membrane and skin. This medicine is also used to treat obstruction of nasal breathing after surgery as well as fluent rhinitis. The drug was developed for children between the ages of two and six.

The Nasic nasal spray for children must not be used if the patient is hypersensitive to dexpanthenol, xylometazoline hydrochloride or other components or if the nasal mucosa is affected by dry inflammation including crust formation. Furthermore, the preparation must not be used after an operation in which the meninges were exposed or in small children and infants under two years of age. Possible side effects can be felt in the nervous system, in the cardiovascular system, in the musculoskeletal system, in the immune system or in the respiratory tract. If the side effects represent a significant impairment, the attending physician must be informed.

Unless the doctor prescribes otherwise, it is administered up to three times a day with one puff per nostril. Unless the doctor instructs otherwise, the drug should be used for a maximum of seven days and a break of several days should be taken before re-use. If the Nasic nasal spray is used constantly, permanent swelling and subsequently shrinkage of the nasal mucous membrane can occur. If the patient has increased intraocular pressure, the use should be clarified with a doctor. If the application is forgotten, it will be continued in the usual way.

Before the first application, you should pump several times until a uniform spray mist is produced. The spray head is inserted into the nostril and then pumped once. The spray head should be wiped clean after use.

Der Wirkstoff Xylometazolinhydrochlorid des Nasensprays sorgt dafür, dass sich die Gefäße verengen. Das wiederum hat zur Folge, dass die Nasenschleimhaut abschwillt. Beim Wirkstoff Dexpanthenol handelt es sich um einen Abkömmling der Pantothensäure. Dieser fördert die Wundheilung und schützt zudem die Nasenschleimhaut. Angewendet wird das Arzneimittel, um bei Schnupfen ein Abschwellen der Nasenschleimhaut zu erzielen. Zudem werden Schäden an Schleimhaut und Haut damit behandelt. Ferner wird dieses Arzneimittel eingesetzt, um eine Behinderung der Nasenatmung nach operativen Eingriffen sowie Fließschnupfen zu behandeln. Entwickelt wurde das Arzneimittel für Kinder zwischen zwei und sechs Jahren.

Angewendet werden darf das Nasic Nasenspray für Kinder nicht, wenn die Patienten überempfindlich auf Dexpanthenol, Xylometazolinhydrochlorid oder andere Bestandteile reagieren oder sofern die Nasenschleimhaut von einer trockenen Entzündung inklusive Borkenbildung betroffen ist. Ferner darf das Präparat nicht nach einem operativen Eingriff, bei dem die Hirnhaut freigelegt wurde, oder bei Kleinkindern und Säuglingen unter zwei Jahren verwendet werden. Mögliche Nebenwirkungen können sich im Nervensystem, im Herz-Kreislauf-System, im Muskel- und Skelettsystem, im Immunsystem oder in den Atemwegen bemerkbar machen. Sofern die Nebenwirkungen eine erhebliche Beeinträchtigung darstellen, muss der behandelnde Arzt informiert werden.
Anwendung
Sofern der Arzt es nicht anders verordnet, erfolgt die Verabreichung bis zu dreimal täglich mit je einem Sprühstoß pro Nasenöffnung. Sofern der Arzt es nicht anders anordnet, sollte das Arzneimittel maximal sieben Tage angewandt werden und vor der erneuten Anwendung eine mehrtägige Pause eingelegt werden. Wird das Nasic Nasenspray ständig genutzt, kann es zunächst zu einer dauerhaften Schwellung und in der Folge zu einem Schwund der Nasenschleimhaut kommen. Sofern die Patienten einen erhöhten Augeninnendruck haben, sollte die Anwendung mit dem Arzt abgeklärt werden. Wenn die Anwendung einmal vergessen wurde, wird diese dennoch in der gewohnten Weise fortgeführt.

Vor der ersten Anwendung sollte mehrfach gepumpt werden, bis ein gleichmäßiger Sprühnebel entsteht. Der Sprühkopf wird in die Nasenöffnung eingeführt, anschließend wird einmal gepumpt. Nach Gebrauch sollte der Sprühkopf abgewischt werden.
